Gloucester Conversations is
part of a 20-year nation-wide movement to engage citizens in dialogue, decision-making and action. We are inspired by groups from Western Mass, Lawrence, Portsmouth,
New Hampshire, Austin, and hundreds of communities across the country who are looking for ways to breathe new life into the role of
citizens in the public square.

Together through dialogue, collaboration & action we can build an extraordinary future!
All are needed!
Citizens of Gloucester have a deep sense of history and place, family ties, and love for the community and environment in which we live. Gloucester is a city that cares, as is evident in the volunteerism of its people.
We have rich and diverse talent across generations, cultures, religions and workplaces. There is strength in our diversity, which is replenished by each new person drawn to the ocean and our neighborhoods.
The public square of conversation has at times broken down in recent years and many good citizens have retreated. When talk is divisive we compromise our ability to find common ground on important issues. As we've seen here in Gloucester and in other communities, dialogue, mutual understanding and collaborative action are essential to our building a healthy future for all. These can take some practice. Gloucester Conversations is here to help.
